RAR New Haven is an official chapter of the Radical Adventure Riders -- we are a thriving community of BIPOC and women/trans/nonbinary folks that helps people ride more, connect with the outdoors, and find empowerment and belonging through bike riding, bike camping, and a culture of DIY.
RAR (for short) is a group dedicated to enhancing gender inclusivity and racial equity in the bicycle and outdoor adventure scene. RAR New Haven is one of 20 international chapters. Here in New Haven, we host all sorts of events and activities for the broader BSBC community centering women/trans/nonbinary and BIPOC folks.
♥We want to give a HUGE shout-out to BSBC, thank you for all that you do for our community and for creating a space for this to happen!!! ♥

First Fridays
On the first friday of every month, we host Open Shop Hours for women/trans/nonbinary folks at BSBC. This time is for creating a comfortable and supportive space for women/trans/nonbinary individuals at any skill level to learn, share, bond and create positive experiences with bikes.
First Friday nights will be led by volunteers with bike mechanic experience to support and guide newer volunteers. Ideally, we are hoping to have enough volunteers so that those who are less experienced can have a buddy on the nights we are working on bikes. BSBC will supply all the tools you will need for fixing up bikes.
Women Trans* Nonbinary hours are open to anyone who identifies as female, trans, femme, genderqueer, trans-feminine, or feels that their socialization or treatment as a woman, transperson*, or femme has impeded their participation in bicycle mechanics.
COVID:
BSBC is dedicated to making sure everyone remains safe and healthy. We are currently not limiting capacity, but recommend that everyone wears masks in our space.
