This is Thursday! This film is really powerful and worth the watch. Bring some drinks+snacks+a picnic blanket and post up in front of our big screen in the shop! Onyeka Obiocha doesn't know it yet, but he is going to lead a short discussion after the film.

Jan 25, 7:00pmThe Hill DocumentaryBradley Street Bicycle Co-OpSet upon building a new school, the city of New Haven claims eminent domain over the Upper Hill neighborhood. While the city argues the building of the new school corresponds to a need for better school facilities, the residents of the area, mostly struggling low-income African-American families, say the decision corresponds to the city’s determination to sanitize the neighborhood in the proximity of the Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Together with the help of community leaders and a civil rights lawyer, the unlikely group of neighbors decides to contest the city’s claim and take the case to federal court. The Hill is a fascinating look at the complex issues surrounding urban planning, gentrification and economic renewal.

Free and open to the public. Location is wheelchair accessible.

Chainbreakers is tomorrow!!

Jan 16, 7:30pmChainbreakers: FOB WorkshopBradley Street Bicycle Co-OpSame time, same place, but tonight we'll be focusing on the front of the bike. Handlebars, stem, fork, headset, front brake, etc. Come join and learn you some FOB! <3

Chainbreakers is every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm!

We are a WTF-only night (see below) where cyclists, commuters, or bike enthusiasts interested in fixing bikes can get together and support the community, hosted at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op. Our intent is to get more WTFers involved with bicycle culture, foster our community, and learn from each other without the atmosphere of a traditional male-dominated bike shop.

Bring your own bike, ask us about bikes, or just come hang out and learn with fellow bicyclists. Whether you are looking to fix a specific bike problem or just want to have a better understanding of bike maintenance, we want to figure it out together. Alternately, maybe you just wish you knew more WTFs to ride with? Us too! Come hang! We can talk routes, make plans, swap stories, whatev! ♥ We usually have some snacks and bevs and encourage this to be a potluck-style event.

See you there!

Wow!! Thank you Yale University Police Department and Yale Sustainability for this donation! It is partnerships like these that humble us and make us proud to do this work.

We will have our work cut out for us for the next few days, so bear with us if our Open Hours are a bit messy. And feel free to come down and help us clean, sort, and repair these bikes so they can get back on the streets with people who need them!

Oh how I wish my old cruiser to be in that mix, so I know that she could have a happy new home.

When would you like people to come by the co-op to help?

Right on!

I'd be happy to help in any way you need. Let me know when is a good time to stop down.

Chainbreakers: Women's Night at the Co-op

Chainbreakers is a women's-only night where you can meet fellow cyclists who identify as female. This event is to support bicycle culture, community, and learning from each other without the atmosphere of a traditional male-dominated bike shop. We'd love for this to be an inclusive but exclusive space after shop hours. We will provide some snacks, but booze and treats are welcome.

Bring your own bike, ask us about bikes, or just come hang out with fellow lady bicyclists. Is your bike rusty and making some weird creaky noise somewhere by your feet? Let's talk about it! We've had some awesome women showing up who really know their stuff, or at least how to figure it out and learn together by doing. Let's get dirty!

Or maybe you just wish you knew more women to ride with? Me too! Come hang! We can talk routes, make plans, swap stories, whatev! <3

I never leave my bikes strapped out nowhere I just go my route and now

I can't believe people steal bikes... I had to ride a bike from naugatuck to Waterbury and back everyday for about three years all seasons for work so idk what I would have done if someone stole my bike!!! It was literally my only mode of transportation!!!

I used to ride to work in Hamden & back every night! I kept my bike inside the building and locked! There are gangs of kids that ride around with bolt cutters, looking for bikes to steal! These are the same kids you might see riding double, or riding one bike and towing another in hand. The bike in hand is usually stolen! Be diligent ! These kids are actually pretty bold about what they do!

Nothing New.

bikes w u-locks aren't safe... :/ my bike+u-lock, as well as another person's bike+u-lock, were both stolen, in the east rock area. the railing/signpost were completely untouched too. but the police said they really can't do anything without a bike number so - register your bikes!!

How do you register your bike with the police?

Aren't the bikes stripped for the most part? How will registering help that?

To late....😓

Primarily east rock?

Saw a video where they cut down a tree to steal a bike.

Time to start kicking their thuglife asses!!!
