Wow!! Thank you Yale University Police Department and Yale Sustainability for this donation! It is partnerships like these that humble us and make us proud to do this work.
We will have our work cut out for us for the next few days, so bear with us if our Open Hours are a bit messy. And feel free to come down and help us clean, sort, and repair these bikes so they can get back on the streets with people who need them!

Oh how I wish my old cruiser to be in that mix, so I know that she could have a happy new home.
When would you like people to come by the co-op to help?
I'd be happy to help in any way you need. Let me know when is a good time to stop down.
This makes me so happy
The New Haven Grand Prix is this Friday!! If you are going to do one thing this weekend, this is it! It is New Haven's biggest bike race, there is tons of food and beer, everyone is out as the Town Green comes alive. You can watch Jake Adams defend his title, Andrew Suzuki ride really really fast, and me heckle them both!

We just passed 50 bikes donated to IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services in 2017, and couldn't be more proud of our volunteers for getting us there! Jake Adams from the devil's gear bike shop, Andrew Suzuki, and Karl Borne from True Cyclery happened to be the ones who fixed these three. Naik, Qari, and Noor are Afghan refugees who arrived in New Have 19 days ago! We hope these bikes help change their lives! ... See MoreSee Less

Lots of bike thefts reported recently in New Haven. Lock your bike in a safe place (ideally bring it inside overnight), always use a u-lock, and be careful what you lock it to! ... See MoreSee Less
I never leave my bikes strapped out nowhere I just go my route and now
I can't believe people steal bikes... I had to ride a bike from naugatuck to Waterbury and back everyday for about three years all seasons for work so idk what I would have done if someone stole my bike!!! It was literally my only mode of transportation!!!
I used to ride to work in Hamden & back every night! I kept my bike inside the building and locked! There are gangs of kids that ride around with bolt cutters, looking for bikes to steal! These are the same kids you might see riding double, or riding one bike and towing another in hand. The bike in hand is usually stolen! Be diligent ! These kids are actually pretty bold about what they do!
bikes w u-locks aren't safe... :/ my bike+u-lock, as well as another person's bike+u-lock, were both stolen, in the east rock area. the railing/signpost were completely untouched too. but the police said they really can't do anything without a bike number so - register your bikes!!
How do you register your bike with the police?
Aren't the bikes stripped for the most part? How will registering help that?
Primarily east rock?
Saw a video where they cut down a tree to steal a bike.
Time to start kicking their thuglife asses!!!

🍪 We have an ask! Donate your unused bikes to us! 🍪
The Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op is able to stay open due to the kindness and generosity of our community. A big part of this is due to people bringing us their old used bikes. The more bikes we get in the door, the more we can get back out on the streets and into the hands of people who need them!
May is New Haven Bike Month, and the Co-op is running a bike drive throughout the month. We have partnered with REI, IRIS - Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, and CMHC Foundation to get bikes to people who need them!
If you have an old bike that you don't use anymore or you are leaving town and don't want to deal with it - bring it down to us! We will take any adult bike in any condition! We are open Tues-Thurs from 4-7pm, and are located in East Rock at 138 Bradley St. If you can't make it then, shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will figure out a time. We would love to see you!

I called you guys left a msg got a couple of bikes. No reply
Do you take parts and accessories also?
What happened John?
Is this Bradley St. off of Grand Ave. I use to live at Bradley Place in the 50's. The Polish American Club was about two buildings down and Bradley Place was across from a little grocery store named Jose's I think and a gas station. The first Street you came to was Lyon Street. Just up the street was a shoemaker shop. I use to go to the Boys Club about a block away.
I have one here but I can't get it there
Do you sell the donated bikes or give them away?
Can I drop one off at REI on BPR? I don't get to New Haven often.
Yes its real. Off state street behind DASHI
This is awesome!

New Haven! Spring is here! This is great because we will get to see more of your beautiful faces out riding and working on your bikes! BUT this is also the time of year that BIKE THEFT is at an all time high. We had two reported to us just today. Please be careful with your bikes and always lock them up to something secure!
